In May IKF’s Professor Bob Doherty was invited by the Scottish Fair Trade Forum to give this years Fair Trade Nation Lecture at City of Glasgow College. His lecture was titled “How Fair Trade can enhance Food Resilience” and was well attended by Fair Trade Campaigners.
The Global Food System is under severe pressure from shock and stresses, and according to the UN will have to produce 60% more food by 2050. Bob outlined why it can’t be “business as usual” for the food system and explained that Fair Trade can play an important role in helping to shape a more resilient food system in the future. Following Bob’s talk the audience took part in a question and answer session.
